Cancellations, refunds and restocking fee
This covers orders placed on www.pathfinderdefensellc.com. Our terms of sale have more.
- When you pay. Card orders are charged in full at checkout, on Fortis's secure payment form. Orders picked up entirely in our store in Powell can be paid in the store when you pick them up. If checkout can't finish your total online, or it is over the limit for one card payment, we email you a secure payment link instead.
- Before anything ships or is handed over, we check your order, your paperwork, and your dealer.
- A 20% restocking fee on the item prices is kept when your order can't be completed because the item isn't legal for you to own where you live, your FFL or SOT dealer won't accept it, you are denied on the background check or your NFA paperwork is denied, or you cancel it.
- A full refund when we cancel your order for any other reason.
- What comes back. Shipping we haven't spent comes back in full; shipping for a part that already shipped is kept. Sales tax on what we refund comes back. The credit card surcharge is refunded in proportion to what we refund. Refunds go to the card you paid with.
- Once an item has shipped or been transferred, call us at 307-921-0038 before sending anything back.
Pathfinder Defense Privacy Policy
Effective October 3, 2026. This policy covers www.pathfinderdefensellc.com and orders and quote requests sent from it. It says what we collect, why, who else sees it, and how long we keep it.
What we collect when you browse
When you visit, your browser sends us the same basic details it sends every website: your network (IP) address, your browser and device type, and the page you asked for. We use them to:
- Show you the page and keep the site safe. Our web host and security service, Cloudflare, does this for us. To stop abuse (for example, too many orders or searches from one place), we keep a scrambled form of your network address for up to two days, then delete it.
- Count visits. Each day we count page views, item views, searches, items added to carts, checkouts started, and orders. These are totals, not records about you.
- Count visitors without cookies. To tell how many different people visited in a day, we mix your network address and browser type with a secret key that changes every day, which makes a scrambled code. We never store your network address with these counts, and the codes and the day's key are deleted after two days, so they can't be linked from one day to the next. We also count how many visitors come from each state.
- See what people search for, so we stock what customers want. A search that looks like an email address or a phone number is not counted. Please don't type personal details into the search box.
We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, session recording, or outside analytics companies such as Google Analytics or Facebook, and no other company is allowed to track your browsing on our site. The page fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your network address and browser type when a page loads; it sets no cookies. Cloudflare may set a short-lived security cookie to tell people from automated programs; it is not used to track you. Our only cookie is the staff login on our admin page.
Your cart
Your cart is kept in your own browser (in "local storage", not a cookie), with a random cart number that contains nothing about you. We keep a copy of what is in it on our server, by that number, to count carts that are finished or left behind, and to send one reminder if you typed your email at checkout and didn't tick "No reminder email, please" (below). Clearing your browser's data for our site empties your cart and removes the number.
Orders and quote requests
When you send an order or a quote request, we collect what the form asks for: your name, email, phone, home address, date of birth when the items need it, your FFL or SOT dealer's details, and your notes. We use it to review, fill, ship, and keep records of your order as federal and state firearms laws require. Checkout uses Cloudflare Turnstile ("Verify you are human"), which checks your browser to keep out automated orders. You pay on a secure Fortis payment page; no card numbers are entered on or stored by our site. You pay by card on Fortis's secure payment form, which shows inside our checkout page but is run by Fortis: your card number goes straight to Fortis and is never seen or stored by our site. Fortis tells us the card type, the last four digits, and whether the payment went through.
Reminder emails
If you type your email at checkout and leave without ordering, we may send you one email a few hours later with a link back to your cart. Checkout says so under the email box, before anything is saved, and you can tick "No reminder email, please".
- The reminder has an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. Unsubscribing takes one button, with no login.
- If you unsubscribe, we keep your email on a do-not-email list so you never get another reminder. Emails about orders you place still come to you.
- The link back to your cart uses a random code, not your email address.
- We never send a reminder to an address that unsubscribed, that ordered since, or that got a reminder in the last week.
How long we keep it
- Daily totals (visits, views, carts, orders): up to two years. They don't identify anyone.
- Scrambled visitor codes, the day's key, and scrambled network addresses kept to stop abuse: deleted after two days.
- Saved carts and the emails typed at checkout: deleted 30 days after the cart was last changed. A scrambled code of an address that got a reminder is kept for 7 days, to keep the once-a-week rule.
- The do-not-email list: kept, so we keep honoring your request.
- Orders and quote requests: as long as federal firearms rules, tax law, and our business records require.
- An order you start but don't pay for is canceled after an hour and deleted after 30 days.
We do not sell or share your information
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we don't give it to other companies for their own marketing. We give it only to companies that help us run the store and fill your order, and only what they need:
- our web host and security service (Cloudflare) and our email service (Google Workspace), which send and store our emails
- our payment processor (Fortis)our payment processor (Fortis), which gets your card and billing details directly from you on its form, and our order number and total
- shipping carriers (FedEx), and distributors that ship some items straight to you or your dealer
- the FFL or SOT dealer you choose to receive a firearm or NFA item
- government agencies, such as ATF, or courts, when the law requires it
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We don't track you across other websites, and we don't let other companies do that on our site, so every visitor is treated the same whether or not the browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a request not to sell or share your information, which we already don't do.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or to have your cart or email deleted, by emailing or writing to us (below). Some order records must be kept by law. Nevada residents: our email below is also our address for requests not to sell your information. We don't sell it, but we will answer within 60 days.
Minors
This site is for adults 18 and older, and firearms and ammunition carry the age limits the law sets. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We will update the effective date at the top when this policy changes. If we make a big change to how we use your information, we will post a notice on our home page before it takes effect, and we won't use information we already have in a new way without asking you.
